Lena Palaniyappan (pronounced LAY – NA    PALA – NEE – APEN [Tamil]) is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University and a scientist at the Robarts Research Institute. He leads the Centre of Excellence for Youth Mental Health at the Douglas Research Centre, a unique partnership between the Douglas Research Centre and the Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (CIUSSS) of Montreal West Island. As a psychiatrist at the PEPP-Montreal program at the Douglas Hospital,  he also provides clinical care to youth with mental illnesses such as psychosis. You can also find him convening the global consortium DISCOURSE in Psychosis and editing the Canadian Medical Association’s Journal of Psychiatry & Neuroscience.

Michael Lloyd Mackinley

Clinical Research Manager PEPP-London, Ontario / Clinical Research Operations

Michael is responsible for the overall coordination of research projects within the Department of Psychiatry at Victoria Hospital’s Prevention and Early Intervention Program for Psychoses clinic. He coordinates with other key stakeholders who are part of the wider network of collaborators (DISCOURSE consortium) who provide specialized input to acquire, analyze and interpret data collected from psychosis research programmes.

Betsy Schaefer

Senior Manager / Clinical Research Operations

Betsy is responsible for project submissions to the research ethics board and maintaining on-going approval for all studies. She supports the team as needed and ensures that everyone complies with current regulations and mandatory research training is obtained. She engages with various external stakeholders to assist with study recruitment and to schedule meetings and presentations.
